Dear Salem Families,
My name is Shane Gardner and it is my distinct honor to be the new principal of Salem
Elementary School. My teaching and administrative experience includes elementary, middle, and high school. I was fortunate to work with many of your children during the 2015-2016 school year as the assistant principal while working with Mrs. Roach. I have worked in the Burke County School system for the past 20 years and have enjoyed my experiences as an educator. Salem has a long history of strong academic performance and strong community ties.
My goal at Salem Elementary is to help your children grow academically and socially while continuing to strive toward excellence. I want Salem to be a place where children are happy to come to school each day; to learn, to grow, and reach their potential for all of their future goals of life. It is my job, and the job of our faculty, to facilitate that experience for your family. Please come out and join us on August 3rd for “Popsicles with the Principal” from 5:30-
7pm. Also, Salem Elementary looks forward to greeting you and your family during our Open House on Thursday, August 24th from 3-6pm. Salem Elementary School is an excellent school and I am excited about working with a great community and a dedicated staff that want the very best for your children. I look forward to meeting each of you and your family as we begin the 2017-2018 school year together.
