RULES FOR ILLUMINATI 2010 EVENTS 29 AUG 2010, AFMC, PUNE 1. RESEARCH PAPER PRESENTATION a. Eligibility: Only undergraduates including interns b. Research work: Only completed work to be submitted. Grant supported (ICMR/MUHS/other institute) research will be given due weightage in selection. However non grant supported papers too can be submitted for consideration. c. Submission details i. Abstract should be < 250 words ii. Composition : IMRAD format i.e Introduction (incl objectives), Methods, Results (and analysis), Discussion (incl conclusion) iii. Submission: only online by e mail at [email protected] iv. Selection procedure: By a team of 3 senior specialists and Poster/ Platform allotment will be intimated by e mail to authors by 20th Aug d. Prizes: worth > Rs 15000 + trophy + certificates to be won e. Last date for research paper submission is 17th Aug

2. NATIONAL INTERCOLLEGIATE QUIZ a. Topic: Diabetes Mellitus b. Team composition: 2 per team, any number of teams per college c. Rounds: Preliminary round on 29th morning, 8 am, written quiz d. Finals: Between the top 4 teams at 1200 hours, on stage e. Prizes: worth > Rs 10000 + trophy + certificates to be won f. Last date for registration of teams for quiz is 17th Aug

3. NATIONAL INTERCOLLEGIATE SYMPOSIUM a. Topic: Milestones in Medicine b. What to speak on: Any milestone till date eg. Discovery of insulin, discovery of anesthesia , molecular biology etc. c. Team composition: Max 8 per team (including speakers and audiovisual support) d. Any number of teams per college e. Rounds: Preliminary on 28th morning for Pune teams (1000 hours) and 29th morning for outstation teams (0900 hours) (witnessed by judges and participants only) f. Finals: at 1400 hours, 6 best teams on stage g. Time: Max 15 minutes to speak (extra time will be penalized heavily) + 5 minutes for questions h. Prizes: worth > Rs 20000 + trophy + certificates to be won i. Last date for registration of teams for symposium is 17th Aug
