Rough Out Mount Madonna County Park, 7850 Pole Line Rd, Watsonville, 408-842-2341 May 23-25, check in 3pm Fri, check out 1pm Sun Directions: Plan for 45 min drive each way. From Santa Cruz area, South on Highway 1, take Highway 152 east exit, go up to the summit, left onto Pole Line Road. If you're still on 152 headed downhill toward Gilroy, you've gone to far. Once on Pole Line Rd, stop at the kiosk and get a parking tag. Tell the Ranger you're with the YMCA and there will be no charge. Without the tag you could potentially get ticketed. If no one is there, put a note in your window once you park that you’re with the YMCA group and you’ll be fine. But try to get a tag to be sure. We are staying at the Bayview Youth Camps, specifically the Buckhorn, Arrowhead, Cherokee sites. See “X” on the map. Parking is limited so try to carpool. We can park right at our site or up above the gate next to the “open field” noted on the map. If the lot at our sites is full, you can still do a drop off and then park back up at the top. We cannot park in the Indian Rock campground or in the area that says “Restricted”. It appears to be a great spot but you will be ticketed.
