NFIR vide letter of even number dated 06/0512014(copy enclosed)had requestedthe Railway8oard to updatethe Establishment Codes& Manualswith the properdesignations of the categories/posts of staff, in consultationwith the Federationsas communicatedvide Boardsletter dated1610511997. Unfortunately therehasbeenno actionwhich is causingconcernamongstaff. Federation is alsodisappointed to notethat whereverthe designations havebeenrevised, the Zonal Railways continuedto use old designationson' daily use like Artisan staff/skilled Artisans/skilledGrade-I & Il etc., as can be verified from the encloseddocumentof Northern Railway and the copy of para 158 of IREM Vol-I (2009 Reprint Edition). This is causing avoidableresentmentamongstaff. NFIR, therefore,once again requeststhe Railway Board to take urgentstepsand update IRs establishment codesand manuals.Federationmay be kept advisedof the progressmade.
