Following the Message: 1. vs. 4 – “Who is, who was, and who is to come” is a is a description for us to indicate that He is (YHVH/Eternal/Judge & Redeemer). 2. Reflecting on the Text: * In Revelation 1:4-6 how did John describe who Jesus is and what he does? * How did John describe the future second coming of Christ? * Read Revelation 1:7-8 – Why do you think many will mourn at Christ return? * As you read the description of Jesus in the Revelation 1:12-16 make a list of at least 8 observation which John saw: How does this imagery of Jesus impact your view of Him? *In Revelation 1: 17-19; What was John’s reaction to his vision of Jesus and what was the reaction of Jesus to John? * What effect did this vision of the risen Christ have on John? (Consider: Gen. 17:3; Num. 16:22; Isa. 6:1-8; Eze. 1:28; Acts 9:4)
