Research Programmer/Engineer position Bento’s lab in the Computer Science Department at Boston College is looking for a talented research programmer/engineer to work on a multi-institution bioinformatics project involving big data machine learning and a variety of “omics” techniques. Technologies o Python, C/C++, CUDA, OpenMP, Matlab o Databases: SQL, MySQL/PostgreSQL o Web application development (e.g. PHP/Python/Node) o Project management, wiki o Multiple-location data backup and synchronization o Data cleaning/wrangling/curation o Version control Content Area Experience o Machine learning/data mining, AI o Optimization, linear algebra, numerical methods o Biology, “omics” techniques Communication o Ability to document code, procedures, and research data/process o Work well with a large, diverse team Need to be flexible, learn fast, creative, and develop and independently pursue new project directions!
