Guidance notes for using the database of Allied Health Professions research funding sources These guidance notes are to support the use of this database of Allied Health Professions research funding sources. Many of the major national funding streams for research in health, education and social care require applicants to have already established a creditable record of prior research grant capture. So the principle focus of this database is to include the broadest range of potential funding sources, from very small local sponsors, up to the national Research Councils. This list cannot be exhaustive but will be a useful starting point for Hub members, in particular looking for funding applied clinical research projects to achieve improvement in practice and patient care, or for collaborative studies with service users, PPI initiatives etc.
Hints and Tips The database has two pages containing sources of generic funding and profession-specific funding that include and/or are solely for Allied Health Professions. The database fields highlight which funders will cover enrolment fees for research awards (eg PhD). The url link for all funders is included so that members can go directly to the home site for more detailed instructions on applying for funds. Many funds are offered on a recurrent basis at the same time each year: so whilst current deadline dates are shown, it is always recommended to plan ahead in preparing bids ready for future calls/funding rounds.
