HSTP Region 3 Transportation Committee Meeting Mendota Senior Center, Mendota, IL September 23, 2016 10:00 A.M. Call to Order: Paul LaLonde called the meeting to order at 10:00 a.m. Introductions: Everyone briefly introduced themselves to the group. Approval of the November Minutes: Jack Barton motioned for approval of the July 22, 2016 minutes. Mick Johnson seconded the motion. The minutes were approved unanimously. Public Comment: Jaime Blatti asked who had an executed contract for FY17? She talked to Keith Spencer from IDOT, who was pushing contracts thru for agencies in financial danger with a clause stating the contract may change. 2017 Meeting Date: Kim Zimmerman went over the dates for the calendar year 2017 meeting schedule. They will be voted on at the November meeting. Meetings will remain the fourth Friday of the odd month with the exception of holidays. The meetings are scheduled for the following 2017 dates: January 27, March 24, May 26, July 28, September 22, and November 17. HSTP Update – Vision & Mission: Kim talked about coming up with vision statement, Kim gave a few examples and the team gave some ideas: provide rides; bringing mobility to the community. Jaime suggested emailing a list of top 5 statements and we can vote on them at next meeting. The statement from the last meeting that Lisa gave would be a good mission statement. Presentation: Understanding Cultural Diversity: Kim presented a short PowerPoint presentation and offered to present a more in depth version (an hour long training) to staff, if interested. Contact Kim with requests. She will email the presentation. Updates from each county: Did not have time for updates.  Bureau and Putnam: Nothing new to report  DeKalb: Did not receive TIGER Grant; still looking for funds (Section 5339 through City of DeKalb)  Grundy: Not present.  Kendall: attending 5310 operating funds’ meetings  La Salle: a few new buses; Medicaid launch is close; started window wrap ads; review & update service contracts  Lee and Ogle: New vehicles coming like crazy; trying to adjust to current funding stream of 5311/DOAP only (used to additional JARC & New Freedom dollars). Other Business: Laura Calderon (IPTA) is collecting stalled capital projects to help push through IDOT. Confirm next meeting date: The next meeting will be held at the Mendota Civic Center, November 18, 2016, at 10 a.m. Adjournment: A motion was made by Danielle Bourell and seconded Jaime Blatti to adjourn the meeting.
