JDA-R CORPORAL PUNISHMENT Corporal punishment shall not be used under any circumstances in the public schools of these School Districts. Should any employee, volunteer, or visitor to the schools employ corporal punishment, the Principal shall notify the Superintendent of Schools immediately and the individual having employed corporal punishment may expect to be removed from direct contact with students until a review of the situation has been made by the Principal and Superintendent of Schools. However, physical restraint may be used as necessary to prevent physical damage to persons or property, such restraint should be brief and non-injurious; the grabbing of hair or twisting or ears is specifically prohibited. When a student has become so aggressive that physical restraint has become necessary, the Principal must be notified as soon as possible.
