Hyer Huskies Celebrate Red Ribbon Week – Dream Big Without Drugs October 17-21, 2016 The National Red Ribbon Campaign is a yearly event designed to increase awareness about drug and alcohol use and prevention. This year, HPISD students will participate in educational activities to encourage self-esteem, setting boundaries and healthy lifestyles. Each program is designed to be age appropriate and generate empowerment and resiliency in our children.

Monday Pledge to Be Drug Free!
1st and 2nd Grade – October 17th at 9:00
*Wear RED, white and blue. Each child will receive a signature “red ribbon” that they may pin to their clothing each day this week.
Tuesday TEAM Up Against Drugs! Team Hyer can GO for the GOLD!
The Ventriloquist will provide an entertaining message on positive choices and saying no to peer pressure.
4th Grade – October 17th at 2:00 Fourth grade students will attend a presentation by The Brain Lady on the effects of alcohol and drugs on the developing brain.
*Wear your favorite team’s jersey or t-shirt.
3rd Grade – October 18th at 9:30
Wednesday Future’s so BRIGHT because we don’t do drugs!
HPHS Teen Theatre students will perform a musical on making healthy choices and saying no to drugs.
*Wear neon, or bright colors
October 20th at 8:00 Representatives from HPHS Student Council will distribute a signature “red ribbon” pencil to 3rd and 4th graders and reinforce the importance of making good decisions throughout school.
