Spanish Medical Terminology Bootcamp Workshop/Course Description: One of the fundamental skills of bilingual healthcare providers and interpreters is to know and understand the terminology used by health care professionals. It is necessary that bilingual healthcare providers and interpreters are familiar with the words’ basic components in English and in their second language. During this 8-hour boot camp participants will learn about the basic components of medical terminology in Spanish, and how to use them to describe the meaning of such medical terminology. The boot camp includes an overview of the human body’s anatomy. This 8-hour boot camp is completely in Spanish.

Identify the components used in medical terminology (root words, prefixes, and suffixes)
Review the human body’s anatomy
Familiarize with the terminology used by health care providers to describe symptoms, diagnostics, and surgical interventions.
