Steps to Prep 1. Gather items. Check closets, drawers, toy box, garage, yard… 2. Clean items, wash clothing, check for stains/damage. Check for missing pieces. Clean, prepped items sell best! 3. Check for recalls at wemakeitsafer.com or cspc.gov 4. Prep items – see tips on back. 5. Create your tags online, print & attach tags to items, then sort using the instructions and labels from our check-in kit. 6. Schedule your Check-In Appointment in your seller account.

Creating Barcoded Tags  Sign into your account at www.myconsignmentmanager.com/jaxfumc  Choose “Enter Items” tab near the top of the page.  Price – Select price. You set the price. Must be at least $2.00 and price in .50 increments.  Category – Choose category that best corresponds with item. Email with questions. This is important!  Size – Match the size on the tag. Use the closest number size for S-M-L. Use Leave blank for nonclothing.  Description/Brand Name – Always include brand name, color(s), etc. If an item loses a tag, this is our only way to match it up and return to the sales floor. Additional information can be written on the 2nd line.  Power Tagger Option – If you are tagging multiple items with the same price and description (for example, multiple Ziploc bags with socks in each), you only need to enter once and choose the correct quantity. The system will create multiple line items/tags based on your input.  Discount box – Check this box to sell your items for ½ price on Friday, if not yet sold. Highly encouraged! Shoppers on Friday are looking for the ½ price items! Most of our items sell before Friday, but 75% of Friday’s sales are discounted items.  Donate box – Check this box to donate your item if it is not sold at the end of the sale. Donations go to a local charity. HOT TIP! All of the fields except the price default to the same information from the previous item. Entry goes faster if you have already sorted by type, size and/or gender. Printing Tags: When you are ready to print, go to the Print Tags tab. Select the items you want to print and click on Generate Tags. Your tags will be downloaded as a pdf. You can print them or email them to us to have us print them for you. It’s free if you provide cardstock or 10 cents a page if you use our cardstock. Tags print 8 to a page.

Prepping, Pricing & Tagging

Hanging Clothing Items

Hanger’s hook must face left like a ?. Attach multiple items safety pins so that pieces cannot be separated or fall off the hanger. Pin pants to the hanger at the waist.

Depends on brand, quality, and condition. We recommend pricing at 75% - 80% off original retail price. Avoid overpricing Old Navy, Carters, Circo and The Children’s Place.

Be careful! Attach tag to the item’s tag or a seam on the right side to reduce holes in apparel. Be sure tag is easily seen on front of item.

Nonhanging Clothing Items

Socks, tights, mittens, booties, hats, etc.

Attach sets of items together with safety pins or place in clear zip-top bag. Seal bag with packing tape to reduce chance of opening and lost items.

Combining items into sets allows you to price Low-priced items for more on one tag. Minimum price required is $2.00.

Attach tag to outside of bag with clear packing tape or attach tag to items inside bag – making sure it can be seen.

Shoes

Shoes must be in good condition. Suggest starting at $2.50 for infant/toddler and add $1-2 each for larger sizes, better name brand, heavy/winter, etc.

ALL / OTHER

  

Attach tag with clear tape or painter’s tape. Do not tape directly to item if removing tape will cause damage.

Please reach us at [email protected] or (256) 239-6033 if you have questions about a specific item, whether it’s f we can take it, how to price it or how to display it Keep pieces together and be sure shoppers can see items clearly. If item contains multiple pieces, be sure all are included and list number of items on tag. We strongly encourage discounting for Friday. Most items that are going to sell at full price will sell before Friday. In the fall, 10% of Friday’s sales were full-price items. Our sales that day were over $10,000. If you’re overpricing items, you will have a much higher chance of selling them on Friday if they’re discounted.
