Greenhills PTC Meeting Minutes October 11, 2017 Attendees: Christie Heiskell, Jessica Hansen, Elle Vance, Kelly Beckham, Ryan Braun, Michelle Shafto, Mr. Smith, Annette Rowsey, Sara Johnson Approved Meeting Minutes: (Delia) • Minutes from September 20th meeting were approved. Jessica Hansen motioned to approve, Kelly Beckham second. Principal’s Report(s): (Mr. Towne) • Great Jog-‐A-‐Thon-‐ even with the hiccups-‐ busted pipe and broken microphone. Nothing derailed us!! • Improved Campus-‐ Dad’s Work Day and Bayside Clean up • Great Website thanks to Jessica Hansen • Parade time confirmed for 10/31 at 10:15 am • Conferences-‐ 4 Half days coming up • Signs on Chain Link Fence-‐ 2 Cubs coming soon to add to Greenhills name • Test scores-‐ 2nd in area of all schools in Math. Highest in our district for all K-‐3 and 4-‐6. Chrome Books helps in 2nd grade for prepping in Test Taking. Testing group changes every year. Numbers keep going up each year. We scored higher than all charters and Davis schools. • Rainey Day Recess-‐ 150 air quality so spend the recess indoors •
Christie Heiskell o First indoor recess of the year due to air quality o Assessment Time and coordination-‐ get a sub for an hour o Peer coaching-‐ a peer comes in to observe them or the students in certain situations. First round with a pre-‐ and post-‐meeting. Four rounds total per year started 2 years ago.
Grade Level Update: (Teacher Reps) • Mrs. Shafto (1st Grade)-‐ Thank you for PTC Birthday gift. o Assessments o Continuing with regular subjects o Gearing up for Halloween-‐ Pumpkins and Apples o Readers Theater-‐ 6 week of reading. Last week was readers theater for TK and K classes • Mr. Smith (3rd Grade) o Assessments o Finish the semester o Science-‐ Weather Unit o Math-‐ Start Multiplication

Rowsey (Multi Age) o Deep into Rain Forest o Studying Plants o Bats-‐ Fun engineering project where the kids go to create their own bat wings o Moving into Spiders-‐ Developing your own spider webs
Jog-‐A-‐Thon: (Sarah) • Thank you to the parents and teachers for all that you do! Special Thanks to Christie. • Ran 12,826 laps equals 754 miles • Still bringing new pledges as of this $62,269.91 o Corporate Sponsors $11,300-‐ only needed a little over half for money putting it on-‐ $5,500-‐$5,600 o Family Sponsors-‐ $5,100 o Lunches $1,500 o Pledges-‐ $44,360.91 o Making sure the Jog money gets in Jog Bank Account-‐ already have $39k o 3rd party credit card processor-‐ $17k for us but they keep some for transaction fees o Money to be collected-‐ under $3,000-‐ checks are in to be processed o Credit Card Fees-‐ will come out of revenues still worth it • Website Worth It? o Most pledges were paid via credit cards § 1300 Transactions were done § 75% elected to be paid by credit card § Approx. $1,800 in credit card fees o Sponsors § Possibly Incentive by adding marketing banner on home page for certain status § Prefer them to pay the check to avoid the fee o Remind Messaging was huge! Thanks Jessica Hansen! o Make sure to keep collecting the outstanding amount dues • Next year: o For teachers they will send out weekly participation updates for their students o Corporate Sponsors-‐ Be outside the Office Door for corporate sponsor day as it was a Huge help! o Mr. Towne calls/emails helped keep for next year o Need 2 new detailed volunteers to help

Ideas: o Send out the email to parents that did non-‐ participate that it is not too late to donate o Look into making Pay Pal more predominate
PTC Finances: ( Ryan/Christie) • •
Request for budget adjustments Proposal Process, Avail funds & Deadlines o Proposal Available Funds now is $2,000 o Fill out Proposal Form in Spring for additional funds o Read and voted upon in October meeting to get on to the ballot now o Then Ballot open to all Greenhills community to vote on in paper and online for 2 weeks since the Bi-‐Laws were changed last spring o To go out in 2 weeks o Proposal: Classroom Garden for $525.00 § Votes-‐ 10 votes in favor, 0 votes opposed § Rowsey-‐ Garden box for multi age was stolen last year. They are trying to replace it for $75.00 o Proposal: Engineering Science Kits for K,1,2 and multi-‐age AMENDED for $1475.00 § Votes-‐ 10 votes in favor, 0 votes opposed § Question? 3rd Grade has the kits from Mr. Smith’s summer school class. Engineering and Mechanical Engineering o Second Half of money total allocated amount would be in the Spring if they would like to apply for the balance.

OPEN DISCUSSIONS • ESF Gives-‐ Ask if Greenhills can do a website like Jog A Thon to help provide money to ESF. -‐ Asked by Ryan • Use Do-‐Jiggy to track participation for Greenhills only • Send out personal stories of where ESF money goes too • Maybe some do not understand that ESF is different from Greenhills fundraiser • Elle to give Sara the liaison of who oversees ESF • President’s meeting notes-‐ Elle • Greenhills was the highest performance of all the schools •

Directory to print next week Box Tops submission in 2 weeks o Looking for a coordinator to lead PTC meeting dates on calendar o Yes, they are the calendar Cavitt and Olympus is taking the donation items to the fire victims o Diapers all sizes, Baby formula, personal hygiene, new sock, coloring books, toys for kids, clothing, etc. o Drop off at Cavitt office and Olympus office on or before Friday
