Federation is pained to mention that though more than five years passed, the Zonal Railways have not been able to addressthe problemsbeing facedby the Ticket Checking Staff in their day-to-dayworking due to lack of mandatoryresting facilities at TTEs RestRooms. Ref:

In this connection,NFIR again brings to the notice of Railway Board that the following basic facilities have not been ensuredin the TTEs Rest Room atHazrat Nizzamuddin Railway Station of Northern Railway resulting lot of inconvenienceto the Ticket Checking Staff. The deficienciesat HNZM TTE RestRoom are listedbelow:o

During the current scorching summer, no Desert Coolers have been provided though permittedasper Board's instructionscontainedin CommercialCircularNo. 71 of 2013.

Pure Drinking Water is not available in the TTEs Rest Room at HNZM due to the fact that RO Machine hasnot beeninstalled.

o

The condition of walls of the Rest Rooms gives shabby look as these have not been repaired/maintainedand no painting/white washing has been done since the last over two years.

o

There are no lockers in the Rest Rooms for the use of staff.

There are only four Toilets and four Bath Rooms to cater to the staff in the TTEs Rest Room where there are 70 beds. The Toilets and Bath Rooms need to be increasedto minimum 10 (Toilets and Bath Rooms). The worst conditioned linen is supplied in the HNZM Rest Room of TTEs which is unhygienic,causinghealthproblemsto the Staff. Contd.Pase...2

Federationis also disappointedto statethat there hasbeenvirtually no seriousnesson the part of Zonal Railways for ensuringprovision of mandatory facilities in the TTEs Rest Rooms despiteBoard'sD.O. letterdatedApril,2016. NFIR, therefore,requeststhe Railway Board to issuedetailedinstructionsto the GMs of Zonal Railways to pay urgent attention for repair/maintenance of TTEs Rest Rooms and snsu,r?adequatefacilities so that the Ticket Checking Staff could avail proper rest in the Rest Rooms before/after working the train. A copy of the instructions issued may be endorsedto the Federation.
