The basis of our request are as follows: 1. To support our community service as center of influence and apartment ministry; 2. To provide sufficient worship space to accommodate all members and visitors due to the fast development of church members; and 3. To support the big city evangelism of DKI Jakarta and its surrounding conference. We have high commitment to enhance and realize evangelism and involvement of each church members. II.

BACKGROUND In 2005, a group of youth activist from the Jakarta Seventh Day Adventist Church (“SDA Church”) that was initiated by Pst. Rony Wenas (Jakarta Adventist Youth Director at that time) gathered at a shop house in Cempaka Mas shopping complex. They agreed to worship and dedicate their time, energy and property for the residents of ITC Cempaka Mas shopping complex. There are approximately 6,000 shops at ITC Cempaka Mas with approximately 12,000 owners and employees as the target of church ministry. The church was initiated by 7 persons in 2005, and has developed and organized as a youth church at the Jakarta Local Conference. This church is later called as HECM. The church was officially established on 9 May 2009 with 35 church members. In lest then 2 years, with God’s grace, the church members has grown up to 51 members and continue to grow in conjunction with the church members’ spirit of ministry. HECM church is currently occupied in a building area of 92 square meter. We have provided various ministry to the apartment residents. In 2016, HECM has provided routine prayer meeting and bible study to the apartment residents every Tuesday evening.

HOUSE OF WORSHIP EXPANSION COMMITTEE To carry out the expansion of HECM’s House of Worship, the church council has formed The Committee based on the Church Board Decision Letter Number 02/MJ/HE-CM/2016, dated on 27 May 2016, to perform their duty in accordance with their area of expertise. RECOMMENDATION FROM THE SDA CHURCH LOCAL Pertaining to the request for financial support, The Commitee has obtained recommendation letter from HECM Church Board No: 017/MJ/HE-CM/2016 dated on 30 July 2016 and obtained request for financial support permit letter from the Jakarta Local Conference: Adcom Decision 2016-340, dated 1 August 2016.

CONSIDERATION FOR THE EXPANSION OF HOUSE OF WORSHIP HECM House of Worship is located at Apartemen Graha Cempaka Mas, Blok A2. 12th floor. No. 09, Sumur Batu kelurahan Kemayoran, Jakarta Pusat. As of 2016, there are approximately 10 families and 51 church’s baptised members. Apartment has become an increasing popular dwelling place among the Indonesian community, especially to those living in the metropolis area. There are various underlying reasons for the popularity of this vertical residential, one of them is practical life style that reflects the current urban lifestyle. However, together with the development of the church members and ministry service, some counterproductive conditions have also developed such as inconvenient and edgy worship environment due to the limited church space. Currently, HECM church is occupying a building area of 92 square meter. HECM house of worship area, condition and environment are inadequate and has lack of capability to accommodate the church members, tiny space area, and requirement to add certain room. The expansion of HECM house of worship is expected to accommodate the requirements for HECM church ministries and community services. The condition above, have encouraged us to restructure our worship place by expanding the building area. The objective is to provide an appropriate, comfortable, solemn, peaceful and safe place to support the church worship activity.

8th Missionary trip – HECM church has an annual missionary trip conducted at the end of each year to provide social activity, build road infrastructure, education, build restroom, APTA and charity clinic to the remote community in the unreachable area.
