YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Application of crop models to explain crop efficiency effects such as increased water use efficiency or drought tolerance by plant protection products under field conditions • Screen, analyze and compile experimental data from the lab/greenhouse and field, and develop a parameterization strategy • Adapt and modify existing crop models • Interdisciplinary cooperation with internal experts • Drive continuous improvement in methodology, processes and formats through own expertise and experience
WHO YOU ARE • PhD in science, ideally in agricultural/biological engineering, agro-hydrology, agriculture, agro-climatology or related fields • Knowledge in crop ecosystem analysis and modelling • Knowledge of modern methods to assess crop parameters and programming skills will be of advantage • Ideally several years of experience with crop models at different levels of complexity and parameter demands • Willingness to work in interdisciplinary teams is presumed • High ability to solve problems and to structure and simplify complex tasks • Curiosity and passion for research • Excellent skills in written and spoken English
