PlainDSP M2M Communication Quick-Start This document explains how to quickly get started with PlainDSP M2M communication.

Introduction In this document, we will explain how use a computer to send sequences of “beeps” to the Arduino + PlainDSP, which will then translate those beeps to readable text (e.g. Hello World!). Hello World!

Computer with Arduino Software and USB cable Arduino Uno PlainDSP Audio Kit “m2m_comm_short.ino” program “Hello World.wav” file

Step-by-Step Here is what you need to do: 1. Plug your USB cable into your computer, and connect the Arduino Uno

2. Upload the “m2m_comm.ino” program to the Arduino Uno

3. Open the Arduino serial port

4. Open the “Hello World.wav” file and play it moderately loud

5. Watch the serial port as the Arduino listens to the beeps and interprets them as text!
