This two-day high-energy conference will empower school leadership teams to explore how personalized learning experiences directly correlates with a student’s and a teacher’s growth mindset.We will examine how personalized learning and its spaces can support a variety of pedagogical and brain-based instructional approaches. Participants will also have the opportunity to create their own personalized learning plan, through a “classroom crib” design challenge.This design challenge will motivate participants to create a personalized learning space based on sound pedagogical practices gained from the captivating sessions facilitated by well-known Minnesota and nationally recognized educational leaders and industry partners. Collaborative and interactive panel discussions with attending school district leaders and high school students will add additional voices to this two-day experience.

KAREN  KEFFELER


Emily  Goranson  is  an  elementary  to  middle  years   technology  integration  specialist,  with  a  Masters   Degree  in  Educational  Design  and  Technology   from  Concordia  University.    Emily  has  a  husband   and  a  sixth  month  old  daughter.    She  taught  sixth   grade  for  five  years  and  currently  teaches  in  a   multiage  fourth  and  fifth  grade  classroom.    Emily   has  a  passion  for  adaptive  design  and  technology   enhancement  in  schools.    She  is  responsible  for   training  elementary  and  middle  school  level   teachers  how  to  best  integrate  technology  into   classrooms  and  curriculum  for  both  regular   education  and  for  students  with  special  needs.     Emily  presents  at  conferences,  workshops,  and   national  conventions  on  how  to  turn  standard   classrooms  into  revolutionary  practice  facilities   using  emerging  and  engaging  technologies,  as  well   as  video  created  enhanced  classroom  settings.  

Karen  Keffeler  began  her  career  as  a  math   teacher  in  Waukegan,  Illinois.    She  obtained   her  master's  degree  in  middle  school   curriculum  and  instruction,  as  well  as   administrative  certification  from  National-­‐ Louis  University  in  Evanston,  Illinois.    As  a   principal  in  1998,  she  assisted  in  the  design  of   North  Prairie  Junior  High  School  in  Winthrop   Harbor,  Illinois.    She  returned  to  her  home   state  of  Minnesota  and  has  been  an   administrator  with  Wayzata  Public  Schools  for   16  years.  She  is  currently  the  principal  of   Meadow  Ridge  Elementary,  a  K-­‐5  building   under  construction  that  will  open  for  the   2016-­‐2017  school  year.

BRAD  GUSTAFSON


Brad  is  an  elementary  principal  in  Minnesota.   He  has  pioneered  efforts  to  transform  pedagogy   to  reflect  best  practices  in  a  digital  age.    He  is  a   TEDx  and  keynote  speaker  who  exudes  a   passion  for  leadership  that  is  palpable.   Brad  co-­‐authored  Personalized  PD;  the  book   that  empowers  educators  to  take  ownership  of   their  professional  learning.  His  blog,  Adjusting   Course,  was  recognized  with  an  Editor’s  Choice   Content  Award  by  Smartbrief  Education,  and   named  as  a  “Must-­‐Read”  K-­‐12  blog  by  EdTech   Magazine  in  2015.  The  blog  was  recognized  as   a  finalist  for  Best  Administrator  Blog  by  the   EduBlog  Awards  the  past  two  years  as  well.     Brad  was  an  Academy  of  Education  Arts  and   Sciences  Bammy  Award  Finalist  in  the  category   of  Elementary  School  Principal  in  2015.  He   earned  his  Doctoral  degree  at  Bethel   University  where  his  research  focused  on   innovation  and  professional  development.  

NAOMI  HARM


Naomi,  CEO  of  Innovative  Educator  Consulting   from  Brownsville,  MN  is  an  inspiring  national   edtech  leader  welcomes  every  opportunity  to   share  her  expertise  and  best  practices  relating  to   1:1  mobile  learning  and  literacy  initiatives,   classroom  redesign  strategies,  and  brain-­‐based   teaching  experiences  to  support  the  learner-­‐ centered  environment.  Her  dynamic  career  focus   includes  being  a  National  Senior  Intel  Trainer,   ISTE  Faculty  Instructional  Coach,  Google  Certified   Innovator  and  Trainer,  and  a  1:1  mobile  learning   specialist.  Naomi  also  has  a  well-­‐known  specialty   for  delivering  motivational  keynotes  focusing  on   emerging  technologies  best  practices,  and   inspired  and  transformative  educational   technology  leadership.  Naomi  is  truly  passionate   about  building  global  relationships  with   educational  leaders,  while  engaging  in   meaningful  and  collaborative  conversations  to   meet  the  needs  of  today's  diverse  learners.

Erin  Klein  is  an  award  winning  educator  from   Michigan,  na1onal  keynote  speaker,  author,   and  mother  who  has  been  twice  selected  to   serve  on  the  Scholas1c,  Inc.  Top  Teaching  Team   based  in  New  York.    Her  recent  publica1on,   Amazing  Grades,  was  a  collabora1on  with   experts  from  13  countries  around  the  world.     She  travels  the  country  speaking  about  the   power  of  student  voice,  how  meaningful   technology  integra1on  can  enhance  learning   experiences,  and  the  impact    classroom  design   has  on  today’s  learner.     She  is  cer1fied  in  Brain  Gym,  Educa1onal   Kinesiology,  and  has  studied  under  consultants   from  The  Center  for  Effec1ve  Learning  to   understand  how  design  affects  cogni1on  and   learning.    Klein  serves  as  a  classroom  design   consultant  and  crea1ve  partner  for  the   publishing  company,  Carson-­‐Dellosa.    Some  of   her  ar1cles  and  interviews  on  design  for   educa1on  and  technology  tools  for  the   classroom  can  be  found  on  Smartblogs  for   Educa1on,  MindShij,  Scholas1c,  Edudemic,   Edutopia,  EdSurge,  and  EdReach.    

MICHAEL  KRILL


Michael  Krill  received  the  Herb  Kohl  Award  in   Teaching  Excellence  for  the  State  of  Wisconsin   in  2012.  He  has  a  Masters  Degree  in   curriculum  and  peer  leadership  from  Carroll   University.  Mike  has  a  wonderful  wife  and  3   boys  ages  11,  5,  and  3.  His  current  role  is  the   Game  Design,  Computer  Generated  Effects   and  Film  &  Literature  Instructor  at   Oconomowoc  Area  High  School.  He  has  taught   elementary  and  intermediate  levels  for  the  last   16  years.  His  research  in  video  enhancement   and  self-­‐sustaining  classroom  design  have  put   him  at  the  forefront  for  incorpora1ng   innova1on  and  adap1ve  prac1ce  in  his   presenta1ons  and  workshops  throughout  the   midwest.    His  presenta1ons  at  TIES  Technology   Conference  (2013,  2014)  in  Minneapolis,   Minnesota  showcased  a  model  for  the  future   in  educa1on.
