The mobile receiver is subject to uncontrollable noise sources, and thus Hess's attention to noise distributions is most helpful. Multiple path loss models are given and explained well. There is a Fortran disk in the back, but this language is of somewhat limited utility now. Perhaps the software should be translated to Visual Basic or C to have wider availability to reader/users.
