Good puzzle size and difficulty By Noah I started out doing Kakuro as "Cross-sums" in the Dell Math and Logic Puzzle Magazines, and they quickly became my favorite puzzles. When I went to find a book of just Kakuro puzzles, though, I found that most of the puzzles were far smaller than anything I was accustomed to. Considering that I can do one of the larger ones in about fifteen minutes, I couldn't imagine the smaller puzzles being very engrossing. This book has resepectably large puzzles to solve, though, and a good number of them. They're not so easy I don't have to really ponder them occasionally, but they're not so difficult that I find myself forced to work by trial-and-error, either. By Moni UPDATE TO PREVIOUS REVIEW BELOW - breezed through them quickly until about puzzle #165. So, out of a total 250 puzzles in this book, approx. the last third of them are worthy of MENSA. If you want 100% of the puzzles to be challenging, Absolutely Nasty Kakuro, level 3 or level 4 is still your best bet. I hope they get harder after the first dozen or so. They are not very hard at all. If you want a challenge, order the Absolutely Nasty Kakuro, Level 3 book.

I usually get variety puzzle books and love the Kakuro puzzles. This is the first Kakuro book I have ordered and am not having any luck with these puzzles. I am pretty good at math and have finished all my college math courses to be a registered nurse. Just saying these are hard. See all 98 customer reviews...
