PROTESTS IN BRAZIL BEFORE & DURING THE WORLD CUP The protests are not against the World Cup- Brazil has won it 5 times. Brazilians love their football and love the World Cup. So why protests? – on the one hand the Football Stadiums are of the highest quality (some not finished on time) while on the other hand the people are unhappy with the quality of Health, Housing, Transport, Education. Many houses were removed to make way for World Cup plans. There has also been a good deal of corruption involved in the Brazilian football organisation. It is not respectful for the Mass to have a priest rushing between Ahascragh & Caltra when one of the priests is absent on Saturday.
