academic programs. These programs include engineering, manufacturing technology, building construction, computer science, business, agriculture, criminal justice and education. In response, UWP has developed a way to address these shortfalls by attracting more students interested in these occupations to the University. The Tri-State Initiative is designed to increase enrollment by 2000 new undergraduate students in 10 years. The target recruitment region for the additional students is Iowa and Illinois! These regions have historically been productive recruitment areas for UWP.
