Together, we can cover Topeka in constant prayer and reap the blessings of God’s supernatural power. To sign up for Phase One, contact city coordinator David Epps at 221-2788. In unity with ORT, local events for National Day of Prayer in Topeka are in the planning process. In addition, the following is from the national task force. COLORADO SPRINGS, COLORADO (January 20, 2013) – As our nation struggles with continued economic insecurity, vast healthcare reform, and countless challenges to our constitutional rights, citizens of the United States are preparing to exercise their freedom to gather, worship, and pray. Millions will answer the call to prayer on May 2 in observance of the 62nd annual National Day of Prayer.
This year’s theme, “Pray for America”, is based on Matthew 12:21 which reminds us that “In His name the nations will put their hope.” National Day of Prayer (NDP) Task Force Chairman Shirley Dobson, wife of Focus on the Family and Family Talk founder Dr. James Dobson, has said that, “The American people continue to be plagued with challenges that defy simple answers, and our hope lies in humbly seeking the Almighty’s guidance, protection, and blessing – not only on the National Day of Prayer, but throughout the year.”
“The LORD thundered from heaven; the voice of the Most High resounded.” Psalm 18:13
Expansion of Liquor Sales in Kansas From Donna Lippoldt Culture Shield Network
HB2260- Uncork Kansas- Pray against hard liquor being available in grocery stores and convenience stores. That would take Kansas from 761 outlets that are highly regulated to over 2,500. Alcohol Beverage Control (KS Dept. of Revenue) would have to expand considerably to regulate that many outlets. This bill would also allow 18-yearolds to sell liquor and handle it by stocking shelves. Culture Shield Network stands against this expansion of outlets. One study in Sweden shows that when this happened, consumption increased by 37.4% and would put our teenagers at risk. Visit Donna’s website, CultureShield.com.
On December 7, 2012, the U.S. Supreme Court announced it will hear legal challenges filed by same-sex activists against the federal Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA), and the voter approved marriage amendment in California known as Prop 8. These cases are unprecedented in their potential impact for the future of marriage in America. The Alliance Defending Freedom has launched a prayer initiative leading up to March 26th when the Supreme Court will begin hearing arguments in these important cases regarding the definition of marriage. ADF is asking us to pray for attorneys on both sides of the marriage issue, the Supreme Court Justices, and issues pertaining to the supreme court case. You can be in prayer with thousands of others across the nation leading up to this very important cultural decision.

We've lost sight of our great heritage as a nation founded on Biblical truth, and the consequences are dire: schools are failing, the divorce rate is climbing, and our society is rife with scandal and corruption. It’s time to reclaim our Biblical heritage and bring God back to the center of American life. Where do we start? By hosting a ONE NATION UNDER GOD EVENT on DVD. United in Purpose presents One Nation Under God – a two-hour event on DVD featuring top American thinkers and political leaders. Speakers at this event include Dr. James Dobson, David Barton, and Dr. Timothy Johnson, among others. Invite your congregation and community. Together, you’ll learn how to view history and current events in light of God’s Word, and how to take action that aligns with His truth. Invite friends, family, and neighbors to your home to view One Nation Under God in a more informal setting. Downloadable invitations and planning tips are provided.
