Awakening Freedom Tour Kicks Off Feb. 8 Pray for the Awakening Freedom Tour to Stir the Hearts of Kansas Christians The purpose of this strategic event is to remind us of our roots of faith as Kansans and call us to respond as Christians in what has gradually become a non-Christian society. Though this gathering will take place in Lenexa, KS, on Saturday, February 8, Topeka Christians are encouraged to attend. Even if you cannot go, you can pray. Pray for:  Keynote speaker Neil Mammen. He is an author, apologist, physicist and engineer, and international speaker. His topic will be Why Only the Church Can Lead Us to A Happier, Healthier, Safer, & Mutually Prosperous America. He will demonstrate how the Bible has all the answers to the needs of our wayward culture and challenge us to take a 40 day journey that will “grow your mind, embolden your church, and change our nation.”  Gov. Sam Brownback. The governor has great enthusiasm for the spiritual heritage of Kansas and will share inspirational stories of Kansas heroes of faith.  Donna Lippoldt. She is the statewide National Day of Prayer coordinator, the Kansas leader for the National Governors’ Prayer Team, and the director of the Culture Shield Network which is sponsoring this meeting. Donna will speak on The Key to Equipping and Mobilizing Believers.  Pray for attendees to be gripped with a holy fire for transforming Kansas. Pray that speakers and organizers be protected from every natural and spiritual attack. Pray for the Holy Spirit to speak powerfully to each heart and send out messengers of the Lord’s kingdom into Kansas and the world. The Kansas City area Awakening Freedom event is the first stop on a tour that is planned for multiple locations (TBA).

The tour is sponsored by the Culture Shield Network. Details below. (Also, see CultureShield.com)

On January 13, Prayer on the Hill Launches

From Donna Lippoldt Culture Shield Network This is our fourth year to host Prayer on the Hill. All the prayer streams of Kansas come together to launch the legislative session. It’s a wonderful time of praise, prayer, and worship. Prayer on the Hill also launches the project by the same name. Every day during the legislative session, we have prayer warriors who come into the capitol to pray from 8 am to 5 pm. They meet in room 381W to sign in and then disperse around the capitol. Depending on the day, they might go into the house or senate chambers, or perhaps a committee hearing. We sit in the back and quietly pray for the Lord’s will to be done and for His people to speak up when something is presented about the state government.

 Topeka Operation Rolling Thunder has an online prayer guide available on the website. The prayer guide can be viewed, printed, linked to from your website, or linked to from your Facebook. Using the prayer guide helps coordinate unified city prayer.

2:30 – 4 pm Workshop on Prayer & Fasting, Room 112N Dave DePue of the Capitol Commission is almost always in the capitol and Donna Lippoldt is there each Thursday. Denise Cochran or Barbara Saldivar of CWA [Concerned Women for America] have people who come to pray and can help direct you to critical positions. It’s a privilege to be able to pray in the capitol and for the decisions that are made. 1 Timothy 2:1-2 says, “First of all, I urge that prayer and petitions and thanksgivings be made on behalf of all men, for kings, and all who are in authority so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity.” The Lord is very clear that we, His people, are to be involved.
