Army Construction Your army is to consist of up to 1500 points. It will consist of a single standard force organisation chart. All official, current GW codexes and Chapter Approved released in Australia at least one month prior to the tournament will be allowed. In addition : Imperial Armour/Forgeworld army lists may not be used.  Imperial Armour/Forgeworld units may be used, subject to approval of the organiser (since no armoury exists in the current Guard codex, Imperial Armour units may no longer use any vehicle equipment at all, except for those weapon upgrades specified in their entry).  The IA2 updates pdf can be used by any affected army as if it updated their codex.  No unit that uses Flier, Superheavy Vehicle or Gargantuan Creature rules may be used. ('Flying vehicles' that don't use the Flier rules are ok, such as Valkyries, Vendettas, Stormravens, Void Ravens and Razorwings)  The Vehicle Design Rules may not be used.  Special Characters may be used. (including those needing opponent permission)  The Armageddon and Eye of Terror codexes are not allowed (they are obsolete).  Apocalypse-only units and/or Formations may not be used.  Spearhead formtations/rules may not be used.  Allies may only be used where allowed by a particular codex (i.e. only Witch Hunters may be allies, and only as per their rules).  A Witch Hunter army may not field Armoured Fist squads (they don't exist any more), and may only field a single Leman Russ (of any variant) rather than an entire squadron. Sentinel Squadrons in a Witch Hunter army may be either Armoured or Scout Sentinel Squadrons.  Imperial Guard special characters may not be included in a Witch Hunter force. (i.e. no Pask, Harker or Bastonne)

For the Overall score, the tie breaker order will be Composition, Sportsmanship, Presentation and Battle, in that order. For each other category the tie breaker order (excluding that category) will be Battle, Sportsmanship, Presentation, Composition. Prizes There will be prizes awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd Overall, Best Painted and Best Sportsman.

Missions These are the missions which will be used at the event. Most of these missions are standard missions out of the rulebook. There is one new mission, from the Battle Missions book. The standard missions are listed here in summary, along with how to score them. You do not need the Battle Missions book to play the new mission – the TO will provide copies of the mission on the day. In all missions, if the enemy has no units left on the table at the end of the game, then you will score a Major Victory, regardless of any objectives. The Secondary Objective is still worked out as normal in this case, so it is possible to not achieve the Secondary Objective when wiping out an opponent. Note that the game does not end when an opponent is wiped out – you can play any remaining turns to try and achieve the Secondary Objective. Mission 1: Annihilation/Spearhead As per the rulebook. To win a Major Victory, you must score at least twice as many Kill Points as your opponent. To win a Minor Victory, you must score more Kill Points than your opponent. If both players score the same number of Kill Points, the game is a Draw. Secondary Objective : Domination (You achieve this objective if you hold more table quarters than your opponent. You hold a table quarter if you have at least one scoring unit in the quarter, and your opponent has no scoring units in the quarter) Mission 2: Implacable Advance As per Battle Missions, p55. To win a Major Victory, you must hold at least 2 objectives more than your opponent. To win a Victory, you must hold more objectives than your opponent. If both players hold the same number of objectives (or neither player holds any objectives), then the game is a Draw. Secondary Objective : Survival (You achieve this secondary objective if a higher percentage of your units are alive at the end of the game than your opponent. Count all units, scoring or not. Independent Characters do not count as units for this purpose. Units split into combat squads count as 2 units.) Mission 3: Capture and Control/Pitched Battle As per the rulebook, except that the objectives are placed in the centre of each deployment zone (i.e. 6” from your long table edge, 36” from each short table edge). To win a Major Victory, you must hold both objectives. To win a Minor Victory, you must hold 1 objective, and your opponent holds none. If both players hold one or no objectives, the game is a Draw.

Secondary Objective : Survival (You achieve this secondary objective if a higher percentage of your units are alive at the end of the game than your opponent) Misison 4: Seize Ground/Spearhead As per the rulebook, except that all games will use 5 objectives rather than rolling. The objectives will be palced with one in the centre of the table, and one in the centre of each table quarter. To win a Major Victory, you must hold at least 2 more objectives than your opponent. To win a Minor Victory, you must hold more objectives than your opponent. If both players hold the same number of objectives (or neither player holds any objectives), then the game is a Draw. Secondary Objective : Kill Points (as per Annihilation victory conditions) Mission 5: Annihilation/Dawn of War As per the rulebook. To win a Major Victory, you must score at least twice as many Kill Points as your opponent. To win a Minor Victory, you must score more Kill Points than your opponent. If both players score the same number of Kill Points, the game is a Draw. Secondary Objective : Take and Hold (You achieve this secondary objective if you have more scoring units completely within 12” of the table centre than your opponent. If both players have the same number of scoring units in this area, nobody scores the secondary objective)

Rule Clarifications The following rule clarifications will be in use at this event. (Sorry there are so many – damn GW)      

  

 

If a skimmer is rammed by an Ork vehicle with a Deff Rolla, roll the 'dodge save' for the skimmer first – if this succeeds, then neither the Deff Rolla or Ram inflict any damage on the skimmer. A Kustom Force Field gives a 5+ cover save to vehicles, not 4+. Force Weapons from the Witch Hunter codexes do NOT cause Instant Death. They can automatically kill models which are immune to Instant Death. Witch Hunter Assault Cannons are Heavy 3, not Heavy 4 Rending. Tau Gun Drones dropped from a vehicle will not count as a kill point, and will not be able to capture or contest objectives. They will count as part of their 'parent' vehicle for secondary mission purposes. The 'multiple barrage' rule can only be used when all shots being fired have exactly the same shooting profile. If there are multiple barrage weapons in a unit, and they do not have the same profile, resolve each shot separately using the normal barrage rules. When using the multiple barrage rules, check range to the initial blast marker for ALL firers. If any of the firers are either over maximum or under minimum range, then they do not fire. Other firers may fire as normal. The doors of Drop Pods are to be ignored for all game purposes. Models may freely deploy and move over open doors, and models are assumed to be able to see through closed Drop Pod doors (though they do provide cover). Units moving on from Reserves must be fully placed onto the table. If a vehicle wishes to move at a low speed, but cannot fully make it onto the table, then it must turn so that it is fully on the table. If this is not possible, then the vehicle must move at a faster speed on the turn it arrives. When disembarking from or embarking onto a Valkyrie or Vendetta (or other high-flying-skimmer type vehicles, such as the Stormraven), the exiting models must do so under the approximate position of the access points. i.e. they cannot disembark to the front of the flying base (Stormraven infantry passengers cannot disembark to the rear, since it has an assault ramp). A flying vehicles wings and tail are considered part of the hull. A unit that is in area terrain and is firing through more than 2” of the terrain will always give a cover save to targets, even if the target is a vehicle or monstrous creature without obscurement.
