OnRamps Academies provide opportunities for educators to collaborate with peers and UT Austin faculty and staff to further develop content knowledge and instructional skill aligned with how students learn best. Through participation in OnRamps Academies, educators will transform their classrooms, deepen content with engaging pedagogy and create high quality learning experiences for all students.

WHAT DO WE OFFER? MATHEMATICS LEARNING BY INQUIRY Geometry and Algebra The Mathematics Learning by Inquiry Workshop serves to remind us of the interconnectedness of the Geometry and Algebra curricula. Led by Dr. Mark Daniels, lead faculty for OnRamps Precalculus and College Algebra and UTeach Associate Director, this workshop provides inquirybased curriculum to enhance activities conducted in either the Algebra classroom or the Geometry classroom or both. The workshop also models and explains the use of inquiry methods to teach mathematics curriculum in general. Who Will Benefit: Math Deans and Algebra I, Geometry, and Algebra II teachers

CHEMISTRY LEARNING BY QUESTIONING Teaching Scientific Principles to Advance Student Ownership This professional learning and development experience offers teachers of TEKS-based and PreAP Chemistry courses an opportunity to deeply explore the key concepts of Chemistry that echo through advanced high school and college courses. Teachers will engage in understanding the

critical question of “Why?” to layer their content knowledge with Peer Instruction and studentcentered pedagogy to promote student success in the Chemistry classroom. Lead faculty Dr. David Laude will emphasize the principles that scientists use so that their ability to do science is much easier. Who Will Benefit: High School Chemistry teachers
