Homecoming will begin Monday, September 19th through Saturday, September 24th. Students are only allowed to work during each activity window. All activities must end (including clean-up) by 8:00 p.m. daily and students must be home by 8:30 p.m.
OHS 2016 Homecoming Guidelines “Rock the Rez” GENERAL – THESE GUIDELINES APPLY TO ALL EVENTS
FOLLOW ALL OCS/ECSD BEHAVIOR EXPECTATIONS (Be safe, smart, & respectful) CLASS ADVISOR OR DESIGNATED OCS FACULTY MEMBER MUST BE PRESENT & ON SITE AT ALL TIMES STUDENTS ARE NOT ALLOWED ON CAMPUS UNSUPERVISED (in the building, hallway, or classroom) ALL CLASSMATES MUST BE INVITED/INCLUDED in all homecoming activities EACH CLASS IS RESPONSIBLE FOR: o PURCHASING SUPPLIES NEEDED FOR HOMECOMING MATERIALS o SECURING LOCATION FOR WOOD, BANNER & FLOAT o CLEANING UP WORK SPACE AFTER WORK SESSION (cannot interfere with school day) ALL DOINGS MUST INCLUDE “ROCK THE REZ” HOMECOMING THEME (assigned class music genre) ALL ACTIVITIES MUST BE COMPLETED DURING ACTIVITY WORK WINDOW ONLY
Wood Gathering & Bon Fire ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Judging – Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.
All drivers must have a valid driver’s license. Follow appropriate driving and loading/unloading precautions.
Banner Decorating ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Judging Wednesday @ 8:00 a.m. (main office)
Requirements: worked on in designated classroom, 6’ x 9’ (vertical or horizontal), made out of 2-D materials (e.g. paper, paint, fabric), depict “Rock the Rez” theme, & *reference opposing team. Banners will be displayed by STUCO staff in hallway & gym.
Window Painting ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Judging – Thursday @ 8:00 a.m.
Requirements: tempera paint, paint main windows/doors & side windows only, depict music genre “Rock the Rez,” & fill entire background. You will be docked points for making a mess/destroying property. Paper must be placed on the floor to protect from damaging school property (floor, carpet, walls, etc.). Clean-Up - must be completed by Monday at 5:00 p.m. Advisor is responsible for obtaining cleaning supplies.
Float Decorating --------------------------------------------------Judging – Friday @ 6:30 p.m.
(Points given 1st through 6th place)
Decorate moving wagon/flatbed trailer, depict “Rock the Rez” theme, *reference opposing team, & include 3-D objects, music & banner o Parade Line-Up @ 6:00 p.m. Royalty representatives must ride float. It is recommended that each class provide candy for spectators.
Royalty Nominations ---- Wednesday, September 14th during Class Meetings (Olweus) Homecoming Royalty Candidates
Points will be Given for the Following Events:
Queen & King (12th Grade – 3 male & 3 female candidates) Prince & Princess (9th, 10th & 11th Grade – 1 male & 1 female candidate per grade) Duke & Duchess (7th & 8th Grade – 1 male & 1 female candidate per grade) o Candidates must be eligible, ride on the float on Friday , and be present at the football game on Saturday in formal attire or athletic uniform
