Dear Parents/Guardians: We’re off to a great start this school year! This school year promises to bring great things to Roxboro Road Middle School! The Halloween Fall Dances have been scheduled. 5th Grade is October 25th after school and 6th Grade is October 26th after school. The 7th Grade is scheduled for October 25th in the evening and parents will be required to provide transportation. Watch for the permission slips to come home with more detailed information! A few important dates - The RRMS PTO has their next meeting scheduled for October 3rd. School is closed on October 9th for Columbus Day. Beginning in the 2017-2018 school year, all student report cards are accessible online. Parent/guardians needing to gain access to their student’s Schooltool account should contact the school and supply a current email address. Safety is a priority here at RRMS, and both students and adults need to “Be Safe” in our parking lot. Adults, please be mindful of the speed limit and recognize that we share a parking lot with the elementary school. While students should not be running in between cars or through traffic, they are kids and this can happen from time to time. Please come in and sign your child out any time you are picking up. As always, if you should have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to call me at 218-3300. Sincerely,

David Shaw Principal

Hello from the library!! It has been great welcoming back our 6th and 7th graders and meeting all the new 5th graders! I have been lucky enough to see all our 5th and 6th graders with their ELA teachers and many of the 7th graders! Last year during our Read Across America celebration I started an area in the library for “Book Swapping”. It was a book case where students could bring in a gently used, middle school appropriate book and swap it out for one in the book case. It was hugely popular and many students have asked if I would continue the book swap. How can I say no??? Therefore, starting October 1st, the book swap will be back in business again! The Scholastic Book Fair will be held in the library again in November. Please be on the lookout for information in the future as to dates and times. Welcome to Mrs. Kilpatrick! Mrs. Kilpatrick is the new library aide in the afternoon. Students might recognize her from subbing she has done in our building in the past. She has hit the ground running and we are so happy to have her here! I am looking forward to a great year of reading, learning and adventure in the library!
