FROM THE PARENT TEACHER ASSOCATION Hello Harborview Parents and Teachers. Here is a summary of the October 10th Harborview PTA meeting. Please mark your calendars for the November PTA meeting on Tuesday November 14th at 5:30 p.m. 1) Box Tops - Tomorrow October 23rd is the last day to bring in your box tops to your child's teacher. All of the box top proceeds will benefit your child's class. 2) Food for Parent Teacher Conferences - PTA always supports teachers and support staff by organizing and bringing in food for one day of parent teacher conferences. Parent teacher conferences will be held on November 9 & 10. Please please respond to this email address (
[email protected] ) by October 26th if you would be able to bring in an item for a potluck style lunch on November 9th or November 10th. 3) Harvest Festival - Thank to all of the teachers, parents, and businesses (Hooked Seafood, Coppa, and Fred Meyer) that helped to make the Harvest Festival a big success! Thanks as well to the Fire Department that allowed Harborview to use their big grill for this event. (Mr. McKenna also mentioned that the school could use another grill if we've got enough money to support its purchase.) PTA supported by providing plates, forks, cups, etc.
4) October Friday Fun Night - The October Friday Fun Night is being hosted by Ms. Harmon's class. (Friday Fun Night proceeds are split 70% host class/ 30% PTA.) It will be held on Friday October 27 from 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. at Harborview. The October Friday Fun night always very fun and Halloween themed activities. Ms. Harmon is looking into getting a bounce house for the Friday Fun Night. If the logistics work out, it will incur an additional $300 expense that PTA voted to pay 30% of that expense. If you can volunteer, please let Ms. Harmon or PTA know. 5) Believe Fundraiser - We don't have the final totals just yet but we do know that it will cover the cost of the Harborview PTA contribution to the Nature Studies program run by Discovery Southeast. Great job everybody!
Thanks! Denise Koch
