28th Sunday in Ordinary Time A small church in our community runs bus trips called “The Artistry of God.” These daily and weekend tours travel all over northeastern Pennsylvania, New York and New England, just to admire the glorious mountains as they become blankets of spectacular color. The air is crisp and clean, the mood of the passengers is jovial and everyone is renewed and encouraged with such breathtaking scenery. It is the best part of autumn. Time and again in Scripture, we hear how God renews the earth. His People are freed from sin, given new freedom, and blessed with abundance. God’s love is manifested in His work of creation, His work of redemption and His work of sanctification. We are God’s work of art and in each other we see His perfection and His holiness. When God calls us to love one another, he does not exclude anyone. All people are called to the banquet of life that the Lord sets before us. We are called in a unique way to serve the needs of others and see for ourselves how wonderful and marvelous it is to live in the house of the Lord. Do not allow sin, pride or prejudice to block our vision and miss the handiwork of God.
