Ottawa Catholic School Board mourns loss of former Chairperson With great sadness, the Ottawa Catholic School Board mourns the death of June Flynn-Turner on November 14. She served three terms as a trustee for Barrhaven at the Ottawa Catholic School Board until 2006; four years as Chairperson and two years as Vice-Chairperson. “June’s dedication to Catholic education was exemplary. She was committed to her community, the schools within her zone and the overall school board. Her strong leadership was recognised by her peers in their choosing June as the Board’s Chairperson repeatedly. Our thoughts and prayers are with June’s family,” said Ted Hurley, Chairperson of the Ottawa Catholic School Board. June received the Benemerenti Medal from the Vatican for her long and exceptional service to the Catholic Church.
