The Ottawa Catholic School Board has a strong commitment to promoting programs and activities that promote a safe and healthy environment for all students. The Board’s schools will all be involved with special activities during Bullying Awareness and Prevention Week November 17-23. Activity The Choices Group will have a police constable in to speak to the students about Cyber-bullying Re-introduction of Caught Caring/Bullying Reporting form for students and a classroom door decorating contest with anti-bullying messages Interactive performance by Darin Kyle – with music & dance – with an anti-bullying theme http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=meqmBVkd3pQ WITS program swearing in ceremony (Walk Away, Ignore, Talk It Out, Seek Help) Maria Hawkins presentation http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7DfhkMWX9ok Each class will contribute parts to a school prayer (focus on friendship with God and our neighbour) Selling glow-in-dark bracelets, Stop Bullying; Knights of Compassion Banner – signatures of students and staff; promote random acts of kindness; Cookies for Kindness distributed to students; Colour day to promote tolerance and inclusion Grade 12 Peer Mentors will visit grade 8 classes with message about kindness and harmful effects from bulling; Colour Day – Wear pink to show you are against bullying; Teachers will hand out “Caught You Caring” tickets to students;
