The Online registration process consists of following steps :

Step 1.

The applicant is required to furnish all basic information such as GATE 2017 Registration Number as mentioned GATE Admit Card of the candidate, Discipline, Name, Date of Birth, Category, Email, Mobile number, PWD details and other exemption details, if applicable. The applicant is required to activate the account by clicking on the activation link received through email after completing registration in Step 1.

Step 3.

On successful completion of this activation, candidates can login using their login id and password for apply online. In this step the applicant is required to fill in all details of his Educational Qualifications, Work Experience etc. This is a multi stage step where applicant is allowed to go to next stage only on entering the information required for current stage. Once the applicant reaches "Submit Application" stage, a draft of all the information entered by the applicant will be shown. Please note that it may take up to three working days to update the details of Application Fee. Once the details of payment of application fee are received from Bank, the applicant can view these details using the "Application Fee Payment Details" link. Only after verification of payment of fee, the online application form can be viewed/printed. The printed application is required to be brought at the time of attending interview. Candidate can apply under only one discipline. E.g. candidates with degrees in disciplines like "Electrical & Electronics" or "Electronics & Instrumentation" may apply under any one of the two relevant disciplines i.e. "Electrical" or "Electronics" in the former case and "Electronics" or "Instrumentation" in the latter case. Candidates with degree in "Electrical" can also apply under either of "Electrical" or "Electronics". However, a candidate wishing to be considered under a given discipline must have a valid GATE-2017 score in the same discipline.
