Preschool Sunbeam Parents, Wow this year is flying by. Can’t believe it’s going to be November already. We have been having a great year so far. We have worked on the letters A-I and the numbers 0-6. Continue practicing writing the letters and numbers with your child. That will help build your child’s confidence! The month of November has several events happening. We will have a free vision screening for the Sunbeams on Friday November 10. Dad’s Night will be held on Wednesday, November 15 at 7:00pm in the Fellowship Room. Dads need to bring their child to the preschool room around 6:50 and then go and have a seat in the Fellowship Room. The kids will be singing songs and doing activities with their dads on this night. Dad’s Night is for all classes. Parent/Teacher Conferences will be held on Thursday, November 16 beginning at 5:00 or Monday, November 20 beginning at 11:50. There will be a signup sheet sent home the first part of November. Also we will be having a Harvest party for the Sunbeams and Rainbow classes (4/5 and 3/4) on Monday November 20. We are asking that each child bring a nonperishable food item to give to a needy family. We will be learning about sharing and helping others as well as making some fun crafts and foods that day. Reminder that there will be NO SCHOOL on November 22 and 24 for Thanksgiving Break. During the month of November, we will be working on the letters J-M and reviewing the letters A-I. We will also be learning the numbers 7-9. Please continue to work with your child on recognizing these letters and writing them. As the winter season approaches, we want to remind you that if Seymour or Bartholomew County Schools are delayed or cancelled due to bad weather, we will not have school! Be sure to dress your child according to the weather. We will go outside for recess as long as the temperature is above 32 degrees and it isn’t wet outside. Dear Rainbow families, Wow! It is so hard to believe it is November already. We are rapidly going through the school year. Please keep in mind we go out unless wind chill is below freezing or it is wet. So please dress the kids accordingly and send extra clothing water accidents and such happen on a daily basis. This month we will be working on the letters h-j. We will play games with numbers 5-7. We will continue to work on spelling and writing our names. I have a clothespin game to help us practice that will come home in a couple of weeks. Helpful hints: Continue to do the good work on homework. We understand there will be days the kids don't want to do it or time doesn't permit but save it for a Rainey day and send back later. Sit your child at the table with a puzzle or a pencil with paper and set a timer. Start out short and add time as they make progress. Dear Raindrop Families, We are settling in to our school year. We have seen some growth in each of the children already. We have enjoyed learning about colors and shapes through crafts and activities. Please keep in mind we go out unless wind chill is below freezing or it is wet. So please dress the kids accordingly and send extra clothing water accidents and such happen on a daily basis. This month we will be working on the colors brown and orange. The shapes we will be going over are oval and rectangle. We will focus on giving as well. Helpful hints: you may try giving your child some play dough or a puzzle set a timer add time on as progress is made. The library has an excellent story time as well. Dad’s Night will be held on Wednesday, November 15 at 7:00pm in the Fellowship Room. Dads need to bring their child to the preschool room around 6:50 and then go and have a seat in the Fellowship Room. The kids will be singing songs and doing activities with their dads on this night.
