November News for Naquag Families and Friends November 2015 From: Ms. Dixie Herbst, Principal November Read-a-Thon Fundraiser Update Our annual Fall Fundraiser this year focused on literacy and “Whoooo Likes to Read – Naquag Students Do!”. Our faculty members and students embraced this annual fall event. Through your assistance and generosity, all contributions will help fund student projects such as field trips and enrichment programs. Individual student incentives will be distributed during first week of November. Our fund-raising results and top contributing grade-level classrooms will be posted on the Naquag website the first week of November. Thank you for your continued support and partnership in our Naquag learning community! “Read-A-Thon” Pajama Day (Friday, November 6th) To celebrate our successful “Read-A-Thon”, students are invited to wear “weather appropriate” pajamas (or a robe) to school on Friday, November 6th. Please have your child wear regular shoes to school. Thank you for your support! Rutland Food Pantry Annual Thanksgiving Food Drive November 16th – November 20th Needed: Non-Perishable Items Suggestions: Canned Fruits/Vegetables/Meat/Soups/Sauces/Pasta/Rice Cereals/Bath Tissue/Facial Tissue/Napkins/Detergents/Cleaners, etc.. / Shampoo/Soap/Toothpaste/Baby Food/Coffee/Tea/Juices THANK YOU FOR YOUR GENEROSITY! Rutland Food Pantry Food Drive Wear a Hat to School on Friday, November 20th To celebrate our successful “Rutland Food Pantry Food Drive”, students are invited to wear a hat to school on Friday, November 20th. We appreciate your support to the “Rutland Food Pantry Food Drive”. Appropriate Winter Clothing for Recess October and November’s Indian summer days may be misleading; cold weather will soon be upon us. Whenever possible, the children will go outside for recess. Please remember to make sure that your children are dressed for the winter weather conditions – hats, gloves, coats. Our students benefit from fresh air at recess; we will attempt to have outside recess whenever possible, even on cold days. If your child wears boots to school, please send in shoes to wear during the school day. Additionally – please label your child’s winter clothing to aid with “lost and found” items.
