November 22, 2010 Attn: Graduates eligible to receive their degree in Manipal University Convocation 2010 Dear Graduates of MIT, Registrar, MU has informed that Convocation of MU 2010 is rescheduled for 7 pm on 8th December 2010 at KMC Greens Manipal. We are happy to inform you that the President of India would be chief guest for the function. Communication received from Registrar’s office is attached for your reference. We would like to welcome all of you to Manipal for participating in MU Convocation 2010 & to receive the degree. Graduates attending Manipal University Convocation 2010 are requested to follow the instructions given for the smooth conduct of the function. • • • • • • • • • • • •

Send an email conformation as reply to this email whether you are attending the Convocation 2010 on 8th December OR the degree awarding ceremony on 9th December 2010. You also need to indicate the number of guests who would be accompanying you for the function. Please write their names and the relationship to the Graduands. Graduands attending the convocation on 8th December should report in person at MIT between 9.30 am and 2 pm on 8th December 2010 to confirm their registration, and to collect their admit passes and gowns. Entry to the venue will be strictly restricted to pass holders. Passes for graduates/ parents/ guests will be issued at the time of registration. Also all attending the function are to have a photo ID card issued by government authorities as per security guidelines. Children below 12 years will not be allowed to attend the function. Convocation starts at 7 pm and all Graduands and guests are to be seated before 6.30 pm. Dress code – formal. No one will be allowed to leave the venue till the function is completed. Please ensure that the decorum of the function is maintained. Use of electronic devices such as mobile phone, camera etc… will be strictly regulated. The function will have TWO PARTS. The first part will be for 75 minutes, when the President will be delivering her convocation address. PhD degree and Institute Medals will be awarded during this part. This will be followed by the second part when Graduands will be receiving their degrees from their respective Institution Heads. Graduands attending the degree award ceremony on 9th December should report in person at MIT between 9.30 am and 2 pm on 9th December 2010 to confirm their registration, and to collect their gowns. All Graduands of MIT are requested to fill the Convocation Application Form (downloadable) and post it to the Officer in charge, Academic Section, MIT Manipal so as to reach on OR before November 30th, 2010.
