The Rhode Island Department of Education released its statewide School Report Cards and North Smithfield High School, once again, achieved Commended status. North Smithfield High School is joined this year by Barrington, East Greenwich, Classical, and Chariho High Schools. NSHS continues its tradition as one of the top ranked high schools in the State!

Career Pathways The North Smithfield High School Pathways mission is to engage students to be problem solvers and self-motivated adults with the communication skills and academic aptitude to succeed in their desired post-secondary college and career choices. Transformation and Success With just over 500 students, North Smithfield High School provides a highly personalized learning environment. We believe in multidisciplinary and applied learning. In addition to working with our dedicated teachers, NSHS students get to discover new possibilities, skills, and talents by working with mentors and exploring career and life possibilities through internships. NSHS students have presented to architectural and engineering firms in New York City, performed at Carnegie Hall, and debated policy and law in Washington DC. They have won numerous individual and group awards, honors, citations, grants, scholarships, and recognition. NSHS students have been accepted to Ivy League universities, they serve with pride in the military, and apprentice in the trades. We are on the way to renovating our science labs and locker rooms for the 2018-2019 School Year. Throughout the school we are repairing and painting, upgrading, updating, and modernizing. We are polishing the school into the jewel that it is; the flagship of the North Smithfield School System, the pride of our community, and one of the top performing high schools in the state.
