LEARN 6 and LEARN 10 North Chicago School Uniform Policy School Uniforms: To help create an environment conducive to learning, students at LEARN Charter Schools are required to wear uniforms. This policy is designed to permit students to focus their attention on academics. Additionally, school uniforms are a way to instill pride in students, their families, their school and the community they represent. School Uniform Requirements: The LEARN Charter School Network Uniform Policy will be enforced with consistency and zero tolerance. All dark blue, black and white items (including shoes and socks) must be a solid color with no pattern. Cleanliness and Maintenance: LEARN Charter School Network encourages students to take pride in their overall appearance and it is expected that students will practice healthy hygiene habits by bathing daily. In addition, school uniforms are to be worn clean, ironed, free of stains and without tears or other damage. Appropriate Fit: Uniforms are to fit appropriately. Items should not be too tight or too baggy. Please be prepared to replace items as your child/children grow. Accessories: Students may not wear anything around their necks, except for items worn inside their shirts, invisible to anyone else. Girls may wear simple earring that do not hang from the ear. Boys are not allowed to wear any type of earrings. Personal Appearance: Make-up, including nail polish and lip gloss, is not permitted in school. Facial hair is not permitted. Students must keep hair neat and out of their eyes. Students may not wear distracting or unnatural hair colors or styles (e.g., mohawks, spiked, shaved to show letters, numbers or designs). No excessive gel. Boys are expected to keep hair length above the collar. Braided, beaded, or rolled hair is acceptable.

Gym shoes are required for all students in grades Kindergarten through 8th grade. One pair of black, navy blue, or white gym shoes.
The uniform is the same for boys and girls: - Two (2) LEARN T-shirts and Two (2) Jogging Pants. Students are required to come to school in their gym uniforms and gym shoes on the days they have physical education class.
