Area 8 in Need Area 8 are working every Thursday with an artist to design a three dimensional sculpture that will be displayed at the Lux Light Festival later this year. We are very lucky to have been chosen as one of six schools participating in this. Kia ora everyone, At this time of our project we are being challenged by the construction of our koru. We need a strong material that we can bend to hold chicken wire. We have approached some places to help but have not heard anything back. If you know or have any material, we would love it if you could help us. Thank you Area 8

Kelly Club are considering running a Before School and After School care programme for Taita Central School. To see if there is interest in a programme we need parents/caregivers to fill out the survey to see how many families might be interested in using this service. You will be able to get assistance with the OSCAR Subsidies from Work and Income if you meet their criteria. More information to come. Kelly Club provides OSCAR before and after-school care programmes throughout New Zealand. Our aim is to provide not just ‘a childcare facility’, but to create a safe environment where children can have fun and benefit from in a number of ways. Our OSCAR programmes are focused on sports, cooking, art and craft activities as well as structured ‘free-time’ around a busy day at school. These activities are put into themed subjects each week that give children the opportunity to extend their learning outside of the school classroom. We believe it is important that children get the opportunity to enjoy play and engage with friends, while being under the supervision of quality staff, during out of school care programmes. Please assist us by filling out the survey and dropping it back into the school office. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
