Jim Hill Middle School Title I ! Parent Involvement Policy 2017-2018!

Jim Hill Middle School, starting this school year, will implement Schoolwide Title I. Our Title I teachers, in collaboration with the classroom teachers, are committed to providing a quality education for every child at Jim Hill. We encourage parents to be involved in their child’s education. Parents play an important role, and their support is critical to their child’s success. This policy outlines the parent involvement activities that will be conducted throughout the school year.!

!

The Jim Hill Parent-Student-School Compact is available on the Jim Hill webpage. This is an agreement outlining everyone’s responsibility for supporting student learning. Parents are encouraged to review the compact.!

!

A Jim Hill parent representative is appointed to serve on the District Title I Advisory Council.! Parent/Teacher Conferences will be held during the first quarter and third quarter. The Title I teachers will be available to review progress and answer any questions.!

!

Title I Progress Reports will be mailed home mid-year, and at the end of the year.! A Back-to-School Night is held each fall. This allows parents to make comments, ask questions, or give input regarding the Title I Schoolwide program. !

!

In the spring, a parent survey will be mailed to all Jim Hill parents. We look forward to suggestions or recommendations from parents that can help improve our Schoolwide Title I services.!

!

Each spring, an Annual Review Meeting will be held to review the Jim Hill Schoolwide Title I program. The results from the parent surveys, teacher surveys, and student surveys will be considered when planning for the next year. The results will be shared with parents in the fall on the Jim Hill website.! Parents are invited to call the school or the Title I teachers at any time to ask questions or schedule a meeting.!

!

Parents and students can check homework assignments and online grades through PowerSchool.! The Annual Title I Fair will be held in the fall for all parents and students. !

!

Red Ribbon Week is a prevention awareness campaign that brings millions of people together to take a stand against drugs, alcohol, tobacco and violence. The red ribbon is worn as a pledge to be drug free. "Your future is key, so stay drug free." October 23rd through October 27th !
