Theater News CCISD Middle School Speech Tournament is Saturday, November 12th and will be held at King HS this year. Good Luck Kaffie Dolphins!

Innovative Lesson Three of Ms. Villanueva’s classes participated in a Mystery Literary Character Competition with other English classes in New Jersey using Google Hangouts. The 7th grade class (1st Period) won the completion by guessing 2 out of 3 literary characters. 4th Period tied with New Jersey class. The 6th grade class (3rd period) did an awesome job of preparing and guessing the literary characters. Thanks to all classes for participating! More Mystery Hangouts are planned for later dates!

PTA NEWS PTA is requesting donations of drinks or cash donations for pizza for the Second Six Week Party featuring FAME on November 8, 2017 at 4:05.

Tickets are $3.00 at the door. There will be pizza, drinks, and other goodies for sale. Students must be in Kaffie school dress code to attend.

How to Make Your Own Pop Socket (submission from the Journalism Club)

The materials you will need are: 2 suction cups Super glue or Hot glue gun Design paper (Optional) Scissors (Optional) The first thing you do is take off the hooks from your two suction cups. Next, you glue around one of the suction cups and stick the other suction cup to it. Then you can style it! Bling it up, use design paper, or even glue cute photos to it! Get Creative! Then you’re done! This item can be used for a stand or much more. Get a grip on your phone! Have Fun!

Orchestra News Kaffie orchestra had 22 students try out for the Region 14 honor orchestra. Our region includes Victoria ISD and Laredo ISD. There was some tough competition! Kaffie had 4 students win chairs: Violin 1 – Ephraim Quilacio 7th chair Violin 2 – Charles Garcia 9th chair Cello – Hannah Ritchie 5th chair Cello – Anna Han 12th chair Congratulations to these students!! They will play a concert along with the other winners on Saturday Nov. 5th at Veterans Memorial Auditorium at 5:30 pm.

Choir News The Kaffie Dolphin Choir was amazing at the middle school region auditions. Out of the 31 students that attended, 17 placed in the region choir. The singers that placed will be singing in our region’s concert Saturday, November 12 at Rockport-Fulton High School. Students who placed are: (the lower the chair number, the better the singer)

Hey you… yeah you. Are you bored and have nothing to do? Well I have your back but first take out your palm and dial 361-FUN-TIME because these events will be a fun time for you and your family. Do you like festivals? Well I nearly saved you from BOREDOM! You could go to the 52nd Annual Greek Festival Nov. 6th-8th at 502 S. Chaparral Street. Or maybe the bike and kite festival. It’s November 7th at 11 am at McCaughan Park. How about downtown Market Days Nov. 5th at 505 S. Water Street. Check back next month for more exciting events to attend. And don’t forget to check out the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade Thanksgiving Day!
