Email Address Book Problem Due to a computer malfunction problem my Address Book and all email files were lost. I have had to reload all the email addresses into the computer (about 500) from an old list, and I know some of you have advised me of changes – which are not on the old list. If your email address is incorrect, or you do not wish to receive these newsletters, please advise me again and I will update the list. I have a new method of storing the information and backing it up now, so won’t be relying on just the Address Book in the emails. I apologise for the inconvenience this may have caused anybody. BREAKING NEWS The Flinders Ports Authority have undergone upgraded security measures and have ceased all tours through their facility. The Committee have found a new pre-convention tour which we think will be just as exciting and interesting for you. We will now visit the SteamRanger Heritage Railway facility at Mt Barker. The committee have decided to replace the Flinders Port tour with one to the ‘SteamRanger Hertiage Railways’ workshop at Mt Barker.
SteamRanger Heritage Railway operates a number of different heritage steam and diesel hauled tourist trains between Mt Barker in the Adelaide Hills, up over the crest of the southern Mt Lofty Ranges, down to Strathalbyn and on through the coastal holiday towns of Goolwa and Port Elliot to the tourist resort town of Victor Harbor. Trains operate on up to 140 days a year and are manned by volunteers from the Australian Railway Historical Society, who are also responsible for maintenance of the rail line and the heritage locomotives and carriages.
Those who attended the N Scale Convention in Brisbane in 2015 are due to receive a $25 refund, as the Brisbane Convention was fortunate enough to come out with a surplus. We in Adelaide are tasked to return that refund to you, so those who attended the Brisbane convention will receive a $25 refund when picking up the Handout kit at the Adelaide venue.
Early Bird Registrations Registration numbers are coming along very nicely, thank you very much. It is important to get in before the end of May if you want to save on the Early Bird price. Mind you, we would prefer you register after the end of May, as that would mean more money for us to cover the costs! Don’t forget to read the Preliminary Notes on the Registration Form. When you get to the bottom of the form, you will be asked the question ‘What is the scale of N scale?’ The answer a three digit number – 148, 150, or 160. Do not enter 1/….. or 1:… - just the three numbers. This will give the drop down box for payment – see below. Click your preferred method, noting that we would prefer EFT as Paypal charges a fee (which we weren’t aware of when we set the convention fee) and costs us about $7 each time, so we have to find a method of recovering that money somehow otherwise the convention will run at a loss.
