January 2018 Dr. Jamie Copeland, Principal The Mighty Dolphin Yearbook Now through January 5, 2018, you can order your yearbook for only $30.00! The Mighty Dolphin yearbook is a hardcover book filled with photographs of your children, friends, special events, classes and candid shots during the 2017 – 2018 schoolyear. District Science Fair Kaffie will be represented by Sahal Ahmed, 8th grade, and two 7th grade projects, the team of Brant Schmidt and Samuel Ashley and the team of Alexa Meza and Rebecca Hawk at the District science fair. On January 24th, the students will meet with the judges to showcase their science fair projects. The public is invited to view the projects from 6:307pm on January 24th at Lozano Instructional Service Center on 1761 Hudson Street. Award ceremony will take place at 7p.m.

Corpus Christi Educational Foundation Grant Mr. Avelar, Mrs. Hopkins, Ms. Lee-Rhodes, and Mrs. Price wrote a grant proposal and submitted it to Corpus Christi Educational Foundation. Only 26 grants were award this year. Kaffie’s grant “BreakOUT” was fully funded!
Kaffie’s 2018 Spelling Bee On January 19 at 9:00 am in the guidance center will be the Spelling Bee. For more information, see Mrs. Aceves.
Spanish Club A special THANK YOU to everyone that helped donated socks. Items donated were delivered to The Ark.
Student Lunch When bringing your student lunch, you must deliver it to the cafeteria. Dropping food off at the front desk or in the office is not allowed. You must show an ID and sign in at the front desk, get a badge and then proceed to take the food to your child in the cafeteria. Your child cannot meet you at the front desk.

Food Drive Classroom Winners Through first period, students donated money for the Share Your Christmas Food Drive. Congratulations to Mrs. Aboud’s class for winning first place. Second place went to Mr. Avelar’s class followed by Mrs. Hopkins’ in third place.

Kaffie Closet Our Kaffie closet is in need of gently used jackets, sweatshirts, or coats and jeans. If you are cleaning your closets out, consider donating the items to our Kaffie closet. Items are shared with needy students. For every item donated, the student will receive one dolphin dollar.
