We will continue to work on data but will also start to introduce time and money. A great way to work with money at home is to have your child sort like coins. Once they’ve done that and can name the value of each coin you can open up a “store” at your house! Each items should be an exact amount as we don’t cover giving change in first grade. It’s a great way to get your child used to coins and to see some real money in action! Once they know the value they can work towards comparative values, for example 5 pennies = 1 nickel. Reading/Writing – We’ll be continuing to work on non-fiction reading and writing. Students have been working on non-fiction books that have a lot of text features such as table of contents, headings, captions and diagrams.

Message from Mr. Thompson, Mr. Gobeil and Mrs. Mansfield

After School Clubs After School Clubs are starting the week of February 5th. We ask that all parents please pay very close attention to the club schedule as not all clubs meet every week! Clubs end at 4:30 and we ask that all parents please be on time when picking up your child. Pickups occur in the HBB Main Lobby. If your child is not attending their club on a specific day please be sure to send a note with your child that day because we do not allow children in clubs on the bus at the end of the day without one. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to give us a call! Wear your Super Bowl Gear or Colors! In celebration of the Patriots making it to the Super Bowl we are asking all students to wear their Super Bowl gear or colors on Friday February 2nd! Let’s get creative HBB! WE are looking forward to seeing some everyone dressed up for the game! Book Bingo Night Please join us on February 1st at 6:30 pm in the HBB Cafeteria for a night of games, fun and books! Admission is a New or “Slightly Used” book and everyone will leave a winner! Please bring books that are appropriate for the K-7 grade range and interest level. We hope to see you all there!
