On Tuesday, March 14, 2017 the Boise School District will hold a bond election to reinvest in our neighborhood schools and community with no increase in the current property tax rate. The District is able to raise $172.5 million WITHOUT increasing the current property tax rate for property owners due to:
Sound financial management and long-term planning
Rising property values in Boise
The expiration of the 2012 levy and 1996 bond
The restricting of other long-term debt
The bond addresses overcrowding, outdated and aging facilities, and gives students access to modern classrooms and schools that reflect best practices in education and technology - ensuring students graduate college and career ready. Learn more at www.boiseschools.org.

Buy a Candy Gram for a friend, someone in your family or a teacher! 6th Grade will be selling Candy Grams during lunchtime from Monday, Feb. 6th - Friday, Feb. 10th. Exciting Garfield Walking Club News and a very special Thank You…. Many of you, our Walking Club participants have heard me mention wanting to get a scan system to be able to record your laps faster. Well, our school nurse, Mrs. Terrell heard me talking about it and because she recognizes the importance of this program, she reached out to her friends asking for their support to make this possible for us.
This year our school is participating in the Roaring Springs Waterpark Roaring Reader Program. By participating in this program, your child can earn a FREE day pass to Roaring Springs Waterpark! This program is designed to encourage children to read for fun. Every student who completes the required minutes of recreational reading before APRIL 5th is eligible to receive a free admission ticket. Look for the packets with all the information and tracking sheets. We hope that you have fun encouraging your child to reach this goal!
They thought it was a great idea and very generously donated the money to us. So very soon we will have a new and improved way of keeping track of all those hard earned laps you’re doing out there. See you when it warms up!
