PREPARATION FOR THE 2014 PARISH MISSION IN CALTRA IN March: it might seem a good few weeks ahead. Our next step in preparation is Thurs 9th Jan 7.30 pm. Fr Seamus Enright the leader of the Mission Team for Caltra guides us saying: For best results in a parish -two things are necessary 1. Begin the preparation early 2. When the people of the parish take ownership of it - that is not just turn up for the mission, but feel that it is a work of the whole community and so get involved in the preparation So all ages expected. The presence of each one is important. This meeting will be in Castleblakney NS @ 7.30 pm. Thurs 9th Jan. It’s OK to turn up late, if you can’t make it on time. Hopefully there will be at least five people from each of the station areas. So let’s invite the neighbour! WORLD DAY FOR EMIGRANTS: Sunday 19th Jan MEANING OF EMIGRANT DAY : As we look into the crib, seeing Love made Flesh, we are invited to go “beyond ourselves”; to go out to the other as God has gone out towards us. Statistics tell us that in 2011 46,500 Irish emigrated, the vast majority being young people. While in Galway nearly 20% of the population is nonIrish. Emigrant Day includes also those who are migrants, NEXT WEEKEND 11/12 Jan to PREPARE ourselves for EMIGRANTS DAY –Take home a page where each can note the names of those who are abroad and take home the “Prayer for Emigrants “ saying the prayer at home in solidarity with our people abroad . WHAT WILL HAPPEN ON EMIGRANT SUNDAY At Weekend Masses 18/19th Jan - As people come into Mass they place the names in a basket at the door [ names of family members, relations, neighbourswho have gone abroad in past 6 years]. The basket with the names will be carried forward with the gifts at Mass. MOUNTBELLEW DISTRICT ACT RET ASSOC:AGM Tues 4TH Jan 8pm in Pastoral centre INSANITY AB’S: Classes will recommence in Mountbellew Community Hall on Mon 6th Jan @ 8pm and Thurs 9th Jan @ 9.30 am.
