The ACT Mastery Exam was given to all Juniors on Sept. 26th. This helps identify areas of need before all Juniors take the official ACT on Feb. 2nd. All Juniors have access to APEX, w hich provides online tutorials in order to improve ACT and SAT skills. Using this resource, students can improve proficiency in ACT English, Math, and Reading subtests. To login to APEX Go to apexvs.com Username = 1st initial + Last Name + Last 4 digits of your PowerSchool Number. Ex. Jdoe4321 Password = apex An Admissions Counselor from Campbell University will be at Triton for On-Site Admissions on October 24th. Sign up w ith your Guidance Counselor. If the student has completed their online CU application by October 20th, an admissions counselor give them their admissions decision on the 24th. Triton Students Will Have The Opportunity To Take The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) on November 15th Have your student sign up in Guidance or HERE by October 27th. Freshmen will participate in Report Card Conferences on October 24th and December 7th. Volunteers from the community w ill have the opportunity to talk to teenagers about their grades and postsecondary plans. Goal Setting Conferences will take place on November 15th. W e need volunteers for these events during any section of time between 8am and 2pm. Please contact Catherine Jones at
[email protected] to volunteer. Blood Drive For Triton High School on October 16, 2017, sponsored by Triton HOSA (Future Health Professionals). All visitors welcome and may call 910897-8121 ext 2766 and leave a time and your name when you are available to donate. Every one donation can save up to three lives. The American Red Cross also gives Triton scholarship money according to how many units are given. Please help us save lives. The drive is from 8 am to 1:30 pm.
Online Payment Service: As of the 2017-2018 School Year, Triton High School Parents and Students now have the option to pay fees and purchase items Online using a credit card or e-check. Links to this service can be found at the bottom of Triton's Homepage or under the Parents tab. CFNC College Application Week is November 13-17 and the Guidance Department will be working with students to complete applications November 14-16. M ore information will be coming concerning this event.
Senior Information FAFSA filing opens this year on October 1st. Herff Jones will meet with seniors on October 17th to distribute cap and gown information. October 28th - FAFSA Day Seniors pay dues to Mrs. Pope in the Media Center during Advisory Period and lunch.
Saturday, October 28th is FAFSA Day! Financial aid administrators will be available from 9-12 to walk you through the FAFSA process. Visit www.cfnc.org/fafsaday to register.

Upcoming SAT Dates - If you are a Senior who either hasn’t taken the SAT, or needs to take it again, you should plan on taking the October administration. Talk with your Counselor if you are unsure whether or not you need to take the SAT. Visit Collegeboard.org to register. Test Date - Nov. 4

Congratulations to Nicholas Kumpf. He is the Media Center’s Top Patron on the M onth. Nicholas has checked out 119 graphic novels since the beginning of the school year. Honorable Mention goes to Brandon Norris. Brandon has checked out 104 graphic novels since the beginning of the school year. Triton High School HOSA (Future Health Professionals) will have its first induction of officers ceremony immediately after school on Friday, September 29th from 2:40 pm to 3:30 pm. The following are Triton HOSA Officers for 2017-2018: President: Jessy Garcia, President-Elect- Megan Judd, Vice President- Daisy Gonzalez, Vice President-Elect- Sydney Herring, Secretary- Melaine Morales, Treasurer- Selena Mateo, Sargent At Arms- Dulce Ortiz, Executive Committee- Anna Coats, Anna Willaford, Anna Raynor and Cierra Strickland. Appetizers will be served after the ceremony in the first-floor media center. Triton Junior Varsity Cheer attended the University of North Carolina during this past summer bringing home Most Improved and Best Junior Varsity Spirit. Our very own, April Gupton, was nominated and chosen for the All-Star Cheerleaders Association. She will attend Disney World in the Fall of this year to compete with cheerleaders all across the world!
