California State Parks Introduces New Annual Park Pass for Kings Beach State Recreation Area and Lake Tahoe Area Parks SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Today, California State Parks is announcing that Kings Beach State Recreation Area (SRA) and other Lake Tahoe area state parks have been added to the “California Park Experience” Vehicle Day Use Annual Pass. “We encourage our park visitors to buy this annual pass, and take the opportunity not just to continue visiting and supporting Kings Beach SRA, but also to visit many other state parks in the Tahoe area, and throughout the state,” said Marilyn Linkem, Sierra District Superintendent, California State Parks. As part of the transition of operations and management of Kings Beach SRA, starting January 1, 2015, the “California Park Experience” pass will replace the current day passes issued by the former park operator, the North Tahoe Public Utilities District (NTPUD). NTPUD’s passes will be accepted through December 31, 2014 only. The day use fee for parking at Kings Beach SRA is $10. The “California Park Experience” pass costs $75 and allows entry to ninety (90) state parks for a full year from date of purchase. In addition to Kings Beach SRA, the pass will also include entrance to the following Tahoe area state parks: Donner, Ed Z’berg Sugar Pine Point, DL Bliss and Emerald Bay. This pass also includes entrance to many Bay Area and Northern California parks along with some central and southern inland parks. “Adding Kings Beach and the other Tahoe-area state parks to the annual pass makes it the very best entertainment value out there,” said Senator Ted Gaines (R-Roseville). “Whether you hike, bike, swim or just want to soak in the most beautiful scenery in the world, Lake Tahoe and its wonderful state parks should be first on your list.”
