Summer Camp Volunteer Opportunities Camp Vision and Start, July 10th-14th Camp New Hope 1, July 17th-21st Camp New Hope 2, July 24th-28th Transportation Volunteer: New Hope children come to our summer camps from all across Oklahoma; however, many families do not have access to reliable transportation. Help more young people attend our camp by volunteering to pick up or drop off children. Must have valid driver’s license, vehicle, and insurance. Email
[email protected] for more information. Volunteer Counselor: Work with staff to foster a nurturing, engaging camp experience with an assigned cabin of approximately 10 youth. Accompany and encourage children as they participate in traditional “camp” activities, assist with implementing our camp curriculum, and serve as a caring adult. Laundry: New Hope provides linens for every cabin, including sheets, blankets, pillows, and towels, as many families may not have extra of these items to send to camp. With almost 60 campers at each of the three camps, that is a lot of bedding! Sign up to do laundry between camps (July 15th and 16th, July 22nd and 23rd, July 29th and 30th) so that we have enough clean bedding to go around. Email

Primary responsibilities include helping with day-to-day camp injuries (such as scrapes, minor dehydration, and bug bites,) and monitoring and distributing medication. Residential, 5 day commitment. Small stipend attached to this role. Email
[email protected] for more information. Assistant Nurse: Help our camp nurse by refilling water bottles, assisting with minor injuries, and aiding in the monitoring and distributing medication. Email

Come as a guest for one day (or multiple days!) of camp to lead groups of campers through an activity. Past activities have included Tae Kwon Do, salon, woodworking, and story-time/slime making. We are also looking for inspirational speakers. Email

Bus Chaperone: We will utilize buses to transport campers from the check-in site in Tulsa to our camp in Chouteau, OK, as well as for the return trip. We are in need of caring adult chaperones to help our campers practice safety on the bus. Time commitment: approximately 2 hours, on either July 10th, 14th, 17th, 21st, 24th, or 28th. Email
[email protected] for more information. Camp Set Up: Help us get the camp ready before our campers arrive! We will make welcome posters, set-up cabins with supplies and bedding, and generally work to create a welcoming environment for campers. Mornings of July 10th, 17th, and 24th. Email

Photos help us capture and convey some of what our campers experience to other potential campers, donors, volunteers, and individuals in the community. Help us show off our camps by taking photos one day! Time commitment: varied, flexible. Email
[email protected] for more information. Check In/Check Out: Campers check in at Trinity Episcopal Church before boarding the bus to head to camp. Our check-in process includes collecting medication, checking for lice, and providing campers with their nametags. Volunteers will be needed for the morning/afternoon of July 10th, July 14th, July 17th, July 21st, July 24th, and July 28th. Email

Help us organize incoming camp applications, prepare acceptance brochures, send mailings, or complete other office support roles. Email

Host a supply drive to help us gather the items needed for camp! Many families are unable to make a special purchase for items children need for camp, and we endeavor to provide necessary camp supplies. We currently need individually wrapped snacks, medical items (band-aids, cough drops, throat spray, aspirin products), feminine hygiene products, closed-toed shoes, swimsuits, shampoo, conditioner, linens (pillows, blankets, twin sheet sets, towels, and washcloths), playing cards, basketballs, hula hoops, and arts and craft supplies (especially string for friendship bracelets).
