• The time has been changed to 1:00 pm to 2:45 pm REQUIREMENTS: As required by the “No Child Left Behind” legislation, paraprofessionals (Teacher’s Assistants, Special Education Aides, AVID Tutors, Instructional Aides, Library Technicians, Bilingual/CrossCultural Aides, etc.) must meet a “Highly Qualified” criterion. This is accomplished by having either: complete 2 years of study at an institution of Higher Learning (48 units or more with official Transcripts submitted with application), OR obtain an Associate’s Degree or higher, OR demonstrated knowledge of and the ability to assist in instructing in the classroom in English, reading, writing, and math by passing the state or local assessment exam (No Child Left Behind test – NCLB). LOCATION: Testing will take place in the Grossmont Union High School District located at 1100 Murray Dr., El Cajon, CA 92020 (do not use MapQuest for directions). TIME: The test will be held from 1:00 pm to 2:45 pm. Bring a picture I.D. and arrive 10 minutes early because the test will begin at 1:00 pm sharp. Nobody will be admitted after the test starts. SCHEDULE: The above calendar of exam dates is as follows for paraprofessionals who choose to meet the criteria through the local assessment/exam. PARAPROFESSIONALS INCLUDE: AVID Tutors, Bilingual/Cross-Cultural Aides, Instructional Aides, Library Technicians, Special Education Aides, Translator Aides, and Teacher’s Assistants. Please put NCLB Test Reservation on the subject line of the email. PRACTICE TEST: A practice test is available to assist you. It will offer examples of the questions on the test.
